Monday Musing – July 8th

MusingMondays5Hosted by Should Be Reading @ http://shouldbereading.wordpress.com/

Musing Mondays asks you to muse about one of the following each week…

• Describe one of your reading habits. • Tell us what book(s) you recently bought for yourself or someone else, and why you chose that/those book(s). • What book are you currently desperate to get your hands on? Tell us about it! • Tell us what you’re reading right now — what you think of it, so far; why you chose it; what you are (or, aren’t) enjoying it. • Do you have a bookish rant? Something about books or reading (or the industry) that gets your ire up? Share it with us! • Instead of the above questions, maybe you just want to ramble on about something else pertaining to books — let’s hear it, then!

—————

So today I thought I would “muse” about something different – other than my habits and what I’m reading. I want to talk about a book that I’m absolutely desperate to get my hands on as an ARC. It’s the new Katie McGarry story – about Isiah. It’s called “Crash Into You”.

Crash into You (Pushing the Limits, #3)

Per Amazon it’s making it’s debut on November 26th – but I just cannot wait to get my hands on this for a review. I have absolutely fallen in love with the characters from this series and after the last book, “Dare You To” about Beth I cannot wait to see where Isiah’s story takes us. The first chapter was included in the back of DYT and I have been dying to read it ever since. November really isn’t “that far” away – but I would love to read this book early, like tomorrow please?? Let’s just hope I get a chance to review this – hoping I’ll see it on Netgalley soon and that I’ll get approved for it!

Check out the summary from GoodReads:

From acclaimed author Katie McGarry comes an explosive new tale of a good girl with a reckless streak, a street-smart guy with nothing to lose, and a romance forged in the fast lane

The girl with straight As, designer clothes and the perfect life-that’s who people expect Rachel Young to be. So the private-school junior keeps secrets from her wealthy parents and overbearing brothers…and she’s just added two more to the list. One involves racing strangers down dark country roads in her Mustang GT. The other? Seventeen-year-old Isaiah Walker-a guy she has no business even talking to. But when the foster kid with the tattoos and intense gray eyes comes to her rescue, she can’t get him out of her mind.

Isaiah has secrets, too. About where he lives, and how he really feels about Rachel. The last thing he needs is to get tangled up with a rich girl who wants to slum it on the south side for kicks-no matter how angelic she might look.

But when their shared love of street racing puts both their lives in jeopardy, they have six weeks to come up with a way out. Six weeks to discover just how far they’ll go to save each other

Now – who’s with me?? What do you think – excited to read this? Or want to muse about something totally different – share it all – I want to hear about it! And I hope everyone has a great and Happy Monday!

I love this segment because we get to see what everyone is reading now and what’s next – and share some fun book gossip too! So here’s my list:

I am currently Reading: “Secret For A Song” by S.K. Falls – just one the first chapter so not really sure how I feel about it quite yet – but it’s an interesting idea for a book.

What I just finished Reading: “The Elite” by Kiera Cass – Loved it, although I did have some frustration through the middle – more to come with my review!

What I’m Reading Next : Now for right now my next book is “Lola And The Boy Next Door” by Stephanie Perkins but this could change at any moment – one thing that has changed so much since I stared blogging is the utterly difficult decision about what to read next… Last night when I finished Elite I swear I spent 30 minutes debating before making my selection – Before I was a blogger I bought one book at a time or maybe two and whent with those – now I have about 30 that need reviews and it is a little overwhelming, but in a good way, to be honest. I can never complain about having too many books!

So that’s my list for today – Happy Wednesday!

Monday Musings Hosted by Should Be Reading @ WordPress.Com

MusingMondays5Hosted by Should Be Reading @ http://shouldbereading.wordpress.com/2013/05/20/musing-mondays-may-20/

Hi all – Thanks for checking out my Musing Monday Post! Today I’m going to “muse” about what I’m currently reading and what I think so far as well as a little bit about my reading habits..

First – I’m reading “The Elite” right now by Kiera Cass – and I’m super excited b/c I really loved “The Selection”

The Elite (The Selection, #2)

So far I’m really enjoying it – I really love America’s character and Maxon, well and Aspen… I have to admit – and this may be a little of a spoiler so stop now if you haven’t read it or may be bothered by one – the scene with Marlee killed me – that is all I will say.. I was in tears just like America. When they started that whole scene off with the black dress my stomach was in knots wanting to know what would happen.. I also know this was a huge scene, but I’m as hurt as Maxon with the way she treats him after… I kind of wish she would simply make some type of decision – a love triangle can only go so far.. But overall I’m loving it and will write a full review when finished!

I chose this book because I loved “The Selection” so much. I’ve been putting it off a little b/c of how “Delirium” made me question sequels – and second books can be..frustrating in a series, but I have to say this has lived up to my expectations and more!

My Reading Habits-

I have to admit i’ve had a huge change in my reading habits lately – I love to listen to audible books while I drive and I commute about an hour each way everyday so I was flying through books at that rate, but now I’m on a hiatus from driving thanks to me having a seizure – so I have lost that time – and funnily enough I have gone back to reading on my kindle – but I do miss audible and hearing something read to me so I did get this on there – part of what I enjoyed so much of the first book was the reader and it’s the same in this one. I am sure in 6 months when I can drive i’ll go back to the audible – but for now i’m happily doing both!

Happy Monday Everyone!

Hello Readers! Sorry this post is coming in so late – but it has been one of THOSE days – crazy and long, but I didn’t want to miss out on this. This series is, as always, brought to you by Should Be Reading on WordPress.com at http://shouldbereading.wordpress.com/ !

So here we go! I know you are all dying to know this right??

1. What am I currently Reading?

So just this very night I started “The Summer I Became A Nerd” by Leah Rae Miller – I have so many things to choose from right now but this one seems to be “speaking to me” – or I’m losing my mind.. So i’m going with the fact it’s speaking to me as my next great read. i’ve seen great reviews, so I shall give it a try thanks to Netgallery! Anyone have any comments on this – have you read it yet? It was honestly between this, Epic Fail, Losing It, and the Elite… not sure why I keep putting that last one off. But i’m figuing this – I will read one book I have purchased for every book I have been graciously been allowed to review by either Netgallery or Edelweiss. Sounds like a plan right? Right..

The Summer I Became a Nerd

Per Goodreads short summary of this book:

On the outside, seventeen-year-old Madelyne Summers looks like your typical blond cheerleader—perky, popular, and dating the star quarterback. But inside, Maddie spends more time agonizing over what will happen in the next issue of her favorite comic book than planning pep rallies with her squad. That she’s a nerd hiding in a popular girl’s body isn’t just unknown, it’s anti-known. And she needs to keep it that way.

Summer is the only time Maddie lets her real self out to play, but when she slips up and the adorkable guy behind the local comic shop’s counter uncovers her secret, she’s busted. Before she can shake a pom-pom, Maddie’s whisked into Logan’s world of comic conventions, live-action role-playing, and first-person-shooter video games. And she loves it. But the more she denies who she really is, the deeper her lies become…and the more she risks losing Logan forever

2. What did I just Finish Reading?

Ok Folks – I’ve been gabbing about this for days, and  you know i love it already – but I finally finished “Pushing The Limits” By Katie McGarrry today and as I thought, loved the ending – sad at moments, even tears at some points, but loved it and cannot wait to read the other book about Beth. Unfortunately, I was not approved to read this via the gallery sites — sad face here.. But I did come across a mini-novella today about this series featuring on Leila – for like $2 – what a steal so i picked that up. I won’t go into details or  plot with this because A- i’ve already talked to much about it and B- I want to leave something for my review right? It will be up by this weekend.

Pushing the Limits (Pushing the Limits, #1)

3. What do I plan on reading next? Now this is a really loaded question – I never really decide anymore until the very minute before I read it.. So for right now I’m going to commit to “The Elite” by Kara Cass – I so loved the first book and b/c of Delirium (no offense to Oliver) i’m a little gun shy about the seconds in a series – but I have heard good things about this so I’m going to bite the bullet and read it, there, I’ve said it and commited – I’m doing this and I expect you all to hold me to this — OK?

The Elite (The Selection, #2)

GoodReads Summary:

The hotly-anticipated sequel to the New York Times bestseller The Selection.

Thirty-five girls came to the palace to compete in the Selection. All but six have been sent home. And only one will get to marry Prince Maxon and be crowned princess of Illea.

America still isn’t sure where her heart lies. When she’s with Maxon, she’s swept up in their new and breathless romance, and can’t dream of being with anyone else. But whenever she sees Aspen standing guard around the palace, and is overcome with memories of the life they planned to share. With the group narrowed down to the Elite, the other girls are even more determined to win Maxon over—and time is running out for America to decide.

Just when America is sure she’s made her choice, a devastating loss makes her question everything again. And while she’s struggling to imagine her future, the violent rebels that are determined to overthrow the monarchy are growing stronger and their plans could destroy her chance at any kind of happy ending.

I surely hope someone talks back to me or reads this, or else I’m just going nutty – So what are you all reading/finsihed reading/planning on reading today? Why not ponder on a Wednesday night – gets you ready for the weekend right?

I have to add a little rant to the end of this WWW Wednesday – do you all find that your blogging or creating of the blog entries/driving traffic to your blog takes away time from your real reading – I was reading 2 books a week on average and now i’m at 1 — maybe I’m doing something wrong here? Help please if you have any suggestions, I’m still a little green here…

All right – that’s all for my rant/breakdown for this Wednesday. Hope to see you all back here next week! and don’t forget – comment back and let me know what you are reading, if you’ve read anything on my list, or discuss anything else at all you want ot talk about!

Happy Wednesday Fellow Bloggers and Readers!
