This week I’m reading:

Reason to Breathe (Breathing, #1) “Reason to Breathe” from the Breathing Series by Rebecca Donovan

Summary From GoodReads:

“No one tried to get involved with me, and I kept to myself.  This was the place where everything was supposed to be safe and easy.  How could Evan Mathews unravel my constant universe in just one day?”

In the affluent town of Weslyn, Connecticut, where most people worry about what to be seen in and who to be seen with, Emma Thomas would rather not be seen at all. She’s more concerned with feigning perfection while pulling down her sleeves to conceal the bruises – not wanting anyone to know how far from perfect her life truly is. Without expecting it, she finds love. It challenges her to recognize her own worth – but at the risk of revealing the terrible secret she’s desperate to hide.

Reason to Breathe is an electrifying page turner from start to finish, a unique tale of life-changing love, unspeakable cruelty, and one girl’s fragile grasp of hope…

MY TEASER:

“Fine, if that’s how he felt, then he should’ve gone.  He obvioiusly couldn’t stand to look at me, so why should I care if he left?!  Now I don’t have to worry about him yelling at me, or making me feel guilty for my decisions.  I don’t care if I never see him again.”

“This was almost convincing, but my heart stuttered in panic at the thought of not seeing his face in the halls.”

—-

So I’ll leave you with that –

If you’ve read it, love to hear feedback, I”m fairly frustrated already with Emma’s situation – mad that someone coudl treat someone that way in general!! I’m hoping for Evan to be a miracle but not sure how things will go —

Happy Reading!

This week my book is:

Unspoken (Woodlands, #2)

Here’s the Summary From GoodReads:

Whore. Slut. Typhoid Mary.

I’ve been called all these at Central College. One drunken night, one act of irresponsible behavior, and my reputation was ruined. Guys labeled me as easy and girls shied away.  To cope, I stayed away from Central social life and away from Central men, so why is it that my new biology lab partner is so irresistible to me?

He’s everything I shouldn’t want. A former Marine involved in illegal fighting with a quick trigger temper and an easy smile for all the women. His fists aren’t the danger to me, though, it’s his charm. He’s sliding his way into my heart and I’m afraid that he’s going to be the one to break me.

Impulsive. Unthinking. Hot tempered.

I allow instinct to rule my behavior. If it feels good, do it, has been my motto because if I spend too much time thinking, I’ll begin to remember exactly where I came from. At Central College, I’ve got fighting and I’ve got women and I thought I was satisfied until I met her.

She’s everything I didn’t realize I wanted and the more time I spend with her, the more I want her. But she’s been hurt too much in the past and I don’t want to be the one to break her. I know I should walk away, but I just can’t

I’m actually just starting it today, so this will be a teaser for myself too – here we go:

“I’m just not ready for that kind of hurt, Ellie.” I lightly shook off her grip and traced my finger in the pool of condensation formed from our beer glasses.  My impulse-driven behaviour in the dark of the basement seemed unwise now.

“Don’t be a fatalist.  This could be amazing.”

“How?”

“You could date him, sleep with him, go back onto campus with him on your arm.”

I’ll cut it there, hope you will check it out!

Happy Tuesday!

Alienated (Alienated, #1)I’m reading “Alienated” by Melissa Landers right now

1. Awesome cover – I love this cover art – so beautiful.

2. I haven’t “officially” started yet, but am starting today so here’s my teaser – I’m super excited about this book. It sounds different than anything i’ve read in a long time, hope you will check it out too!

Teaser:

“A hint of wistfulness tugged at the edges of his full mouth, and she felt that same tug deep in her belly like an emotional sympathy pain.  She reached out and plucked a curled brown leaf from it’s branch, then handed it to him.  “Here, a small reminder of home.  And better than the larun I tried to bake.”

Happy Tuesday Everyone!

“The week creeps along.  I”m restless and edgy; Hannah and I cruise the highway fro hours every night.  “You’re wasting gas.” Cade points out, but I just shrug, handing my credit card over to the pale, skinny attendant like a crack addict looking for a fix.  The road rumbles under my feet: keep going, keep going, keep going. The Marriage Merger (Marriage to a Billionaire, #4)

I’m currently reading : ” The Marriage Merger” by Jennifer Probst – I’m only a few chapters in — so no real feedback yet but check out my teaser below:

“She opened her mouth to tell him no, but he’d already turned to finish his conversation with Tanya.  Julietta was tempted to walk out, but she figured she’d let him win this round.  He quickly dispersed the other conference members and Wolfe, shut the door, and pressed a button on his desk.  The door slid closed without a sound and locked them in.”

Happy Tuesday!

Tuesday Teaser hosted by Should Be Reading on WordPress.Com

Hello All! I am going to do my usual Top Ten Tuesday later on today, but I saw this opportunity to participate in the Tuesday Teaser and I can’t help myself – so here it goes! FYI – I’m really loving Pushing the Limits – I just got to the point where the two main characeters make a big decision – and I lOVE IT!

Ok so for the random quote, without giving too much away… Let me see… Here we go:

“We’d read about sirens in English this fall; Greek mythology bullshit about women so beautiful, their voices so enchanting, that men did anything for them. Turned out that mythology crap was real because every time I saw her, I lost my mind.”

This book has some “language” but I love it – cannot wait to see how it ends – I’m really enjoying the characters and their journey, although it is difficult, it makes it real. Happy Tuesday Everyone! And check out the book if you haven’t yet! Kelley
